Celebrating the Success of Our Students at CTK
We are delighted to share with our parish communities the examination results achieved by our students at Christ the King this summer. These results reflect the hard work and perseverance of our young people, the dedication of our staff, and the support and encouragement they receive from their families, parishes and the
wider Catholic community.
At GCSE, our Year 11 students achieved some excellent results:
75.5% of all GCSE entries were awarded Grade 4 or above, with 57% at Grade 5+ and 20% at Grade 7+.
67.5% of students achieved Grade 4+ in both English and Mathematics, with 42.2% achieving Grade 5+.
In Religious Education, a core subject for every student at Christ the King, 75% achieved Grade 4+ and 63.8% achieved Grade 5+.
24 students achieved five or more Grades 7–9.
111 students achieved five or more Grades 4–9.
Our overall Attainment 8 score was 4.7.
Behind these figures are many individual success stories. We are proud of those students who achieved exceptional numbers of the highest grades, but equally proud of those for whom their results represent significant personal achievement, determination and perseverance.
We are looking forward to welcoming many of our Year 11 students back to continue their journey with us at Christ the King Sixth Form. Sixth Form enrolment takes place on Friday 4 September at 8.45am, when we will welcome back our own students as well as those joining us from other schools to begin the next stage of their education.
We are also celebrating the achievements of our Year 13 students. There were some excellent individual A Level results, including a student achieving A*, A*, B who is going to NTU to study Primary Education; a student who achieved A*, B, C and is going to the University of Nottingham to study Psychology; alongside strong individual outcomes in vocational qualifications. Across A Level entries, 52.8% of grades were A–C*, with an average grade of C-.
Our Sixth Form students have secured a wide range of positive destinations. Students are progressing to universities across the country to study courses including Electrical Engineering, Psychology, Nursing, Law, Finance, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Education and Paramedic Science, while others are moving on to apprenticeships and employment.
As a Catholic school, we recognise that examination results are only one part of education. Our hope is that every young person leaves Christ the King having developed their God-given gifts and talents and ready to use them in the service of others.
Speaking about young people, Pope Leo XIV reminds us that “They are our hope for the future.” As we celebrate what our students have achieved, we also look forward with hope to all that lies ahead for them.
Please continue to keep our students in your prayers: those returning to us to begin their Sixth Form studies and those leaving Christ the King to take their next steps in education, training or employment.
May God bless them, guide them and help them to recognise and use their gifts and talents in the service of others.
