Holy Family Parish and Emmanuel House

Our parish is partnering with Emmanuel House to utilise the presbytery at Our Lady & St Edward’s to provide short-term supported accommodation for the homeless. This will allow the parish to retain the use of the café and meeting room at the front of the house, and for the living accommodation to be converted to provide rooms for up to 7 people and one staff member. Emmanuel House will have a member of staff on site 24/7.

You will see that this project is the fruit of months of discussion between the parish, Diocese and Emmanuel House and will benefit the parish, by having an empty building put to good use, and will make a huge difference to many people who find themselves homeless.

Here is a letter that went out in October to the whole parish, parish primary school and local community, giving more detail of the project.

As a result of a public meeting held on the 8th November, here is a document addressing some of the questions posed, giving more detail of the project.

If you have any questions or queries about the project, feel free to get in touch with the parish or Emmanuel House.
