St Augustine's
St Augustine’s

We are a Catholic Parish on the east side of Nottingham. Our churches are St Augustine’s on Woodborough Road, Our Lady & St Edward’s on Gordon Road in Thorneywood and Sacred Heart on Carlton Hill. We cover the inner city areas of St Ann’s, Sneinton and Mapperley Park and over the city/county boundary into Carlton, Gedling, Colwick, Netherfield and Bakersfield. We also extend out to the villages of Burton Joyce and Lowdham. As well as our three main churches, we also have Mass in St Christopher’s Anglican Church in Sneinton each Sunday morning. We are part of the Catholic Diocese of Nottingham, under the leadership of Bishop Patrick McKinney.

Our Lady & St Edward’s

Also included in our community are our schools; St Augustine’s, Our Lady & St Edward’s and Sacred Heart primaries. These feed into the three Catholic secondary schools in Nottingham; The Becket School, Christ the King and Trinity.

Sacred Heart

Message from Fr Joe, The Parish Priest;

Welcome to the website of the parish of the Holy Family, East Nottingham. I hope you find the information here useful.

Our three former parishes have recently come together to form Holy Family, all served by a Pastoral Team of priests, deacon, sisters and lay people.

The teaching of the Catholic Church is that the parish is not the church building, but the Body of Christ, made up of living stones. Each member of our parish is one of those living stones and vital to the life of the parish. If you have not been part of the parish before or have been away from the church for a while, you are particularly welcome and I hope you feel at home as part of the community.

I invite every parishioner to come forward and help us if you can. The door is always open to new people and new ideas which can contribute to sustaining and developing the work of the parish. Those in our community who are sick or housebound can make an immense contribution to the spiritual life of the parish with their prayers.

Enjoy your visit to this website and, even better, feel free to call in at any of our churches and experience the warm welcome and peace we offer. If you have time, come to one of our services where everyone is always welcome.

Please complete the Parishioner Information Form to enable us to add you to our database.
