OFSTED at Our Lady & St Edward’s

In May, Our Lady & St Edward’s Primary school was visited by some lovely school inspectors. They judged the school to be ‘Good’ overall.

The school is an inclusive Christian community where all are valued. It has high expectations of pupils and staff know the pupils and families well. Behaviour around the school is positive. Pupils benefit from being able to take on leadership roles and are proud to do so. The school has an ambitious curriculum in place. Pupils who need additional support are quickly identified and the receive the precise help they need. Children in Nursery flourish. Pupils show respect towards staff and each other. The school has a well-designed personal development curriculum. Pupils talk confidently about the Christian ethos of the school and their own spiritual development. Staff are proud to be members of the school community and praised the calm environment in the school, for pupils and themselves. The school is a real safe haven.

Well done to Mrs Byrne and her staff, the Governors and all pupils. This is an excellent report and confirms what we already know; we are truly blessed by having Our Lady & St Edward’s School as part of Holy Family Parish.
